What it’s all about:
A Day on the Bay is an exciting component in Tampa Bay Watch’s Estuary EDventures education program. The environmental community course starts with an estuary orientation and touch tank experience, followed by a day of exploration on the bay via tandem kayaks. Participants will check out oyster beds, a local bird rookery, seagrass beds, and a mangrove forest! 

Who can come:
Families, individuals, and annual visitors to the Tampa Bay area. Group sessions can be arranged by special request. 

What to bring:
Participants are encouraged to bring a towel, water, sunscreen, closed-toed shoes, and a change of clothes. Lunch is not provided; please plan accordingly.

Note: all participants must be prepaid; no onsite registration or payment is permitted the morning of the event. 


Session cancellations:
Ecotour sessions must have a minimum of ten people; otherwise, participants will be rescheduled to the next available date. In case of inclement weather or extremely low tides, sessions may be cancelled and participants notified before 10:00 am the day of their scheduled session. Please feel free to call 727.867.8166 after 8:30 am to inquire about cancellations.

Where will you paddle?
Our 2.5-mile paddle will take you through some of our most treasured resources right in front of the Tampa Bay Watch Marine Center!
