Tampa Bay Watch is made possible by our dedicated members and volunteers who help to keep our programs running and allow us to continue to add habitat restoration projects. Collectively, we have placed thousands of marine-friendly oyster domes in Tampa Bay. We have planted over 100,000 seagrass plugs and over a million salt marsh plants that help protect the shoreline from erosion and create new habitat. We have removed more than 500 derelict crab traps and searched over 50 miles of coastline to monitor scallop populations, and our restoration efforts continue to grow! Our new Marine and Education Center has facilitated our ability to reach hundreds of our communities’ school children, teaching them the importance of protecting the valuable resource we have in Tampa Bay.
